Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Groupings app ("Groupings", "the app"), developed and operated by Josh Bradley, based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using Groupings, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Licence to use Groupings

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use Groupings on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in line with the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

2. Accounts and guest play

You can play Groupings as a guest without an account. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, you are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity that happens under it. Your account is given an automatically generated username (for example, a random combination of words and numbers), which is shown on the leaderboards together with your score and, if you have Groupings Plus, a Plus badge. You can change your username in Settings once every 30 days. Each username must be unique and must follow the community rules in section 4. We may reset or regenerate a username where necessary.

3. Acceptable use

When using Groupings, you agree not to:

• cheat, exploit bugs, or use tools or modified clients to manipulate scores, coins, streaks or leaderboards;
• reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where this is permitted by law;
• interfere with, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app or its servers.

We may take legal action, suspend or remove access, reset scores, or delete accounts that break these rules.

4. Community rules and usernames

Groupings has leaderboards where your username is visible to other players. To keep them friendly and safe for everyone, you agree that:

• your username is 3 to 16 characters long and uses only letters, numbers and underscores;
• your username will not be offensive, hateful or discriminatory, including towards anyone because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age;
• your username will not be sexually explicit, violent, threatening or harassing, and will not promote drugs, self-harm or illegal activity;
• your username will not name or promote political parties, politicians, campaigns or movements;
• your username will not pretend to be Groupings, its staff or another person, and will not contain personal information or advertising;
• you will not harass or abuse other players or try to get around the username checks.

Checks. The app checks usernames against a list of blocked words before it accepts them. No filter is perfect, so please report anything that gets through.

Reporting. You can report a player by pressing and holding their name on a leaderboard, or from Settings → Report a player. You can also email us at the address in section 14. We review reports as quickly as we reasonably can. If we need more information about a report, we may contact you using the email address linked to your account.

What we may do. If a username or behaviour breaks these rules we may change or reset a username, remove scores from the leaderboards, suspend access, or permanently delete the account and the data linked to it. We may do this without notice where the breach is serious.

Bug reports. Signed-in players can report a problem with the app from Settings → Report a bug. We use what you send (the type of problem, any note you add, and your app and device details) only to find and fix problems. See our Privacy Policy.

5. In-app purchases

Groupings offers an optional one-time purchase, Groupings Plus, which removes ads, gives you unlimited lives, halves the coin cost of hints and second chances, and adds a Plus badge next to your name on the leaderboards and a special tile style. We may add to or adjust these extra benefits over time.

Groupings also offers optional puzzle packs, such as the Sports Pack. A pack is a one-time purchase through the App Store, or can be unlocked with in-game coins, and comes with one free try first. Pack prices, what each pack contains and whether Groupings Plus includes packs may change.

• Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Groupings Plus and puzzle packs bought with money are one-time, non-consumable purchases and can be restored on your devices using "Restore Purchases".
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store's refund policy; we are not able to issue refunds directly.

6. Virtual items

Coins, hearts and similar in-game items have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are not transferable. We may adjust, reset or remove virtual items, for example to fix bugs, prevent cheating, or as part of updates to the game. We may also limit how many coins you can earn from playing each day, offer rewards for inviting friends with a friend code (which only works for newly created accounts, and which we may change, limit or withdraw, including where we see misuse), and change how many coins puzzles and modes pay, what things cost, and how quickly hearts come back.

7. Advertising

Groupings is free to play and supported by advertising provided through Google AdMob. Purchasing Groupings Plus removes ads. How advertising data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual property

Groupings, including its puzzles, design, branding, name and content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. You may not copy, distribute or create derivative works from the app or its content without our permission.

9. Disclaimer

Groupings is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from bugs, and puzzle availability and features may change over time.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, Groupings. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Groupings and delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete Account). We may suspend or end your access to the app, or to specific features, and may remove your scores or delete your account (and the data linked to it), if you break these Terms or our community rules, or if we discontinue the service.

12. Changes to the app and these Terms

We may update, change or discontinue parts of Groupings at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms. In some cases we may ask you to agree to updated Terms, or to update to the latest version of the app, before you can keep playing. We may restrict or block use of the app, or of specific features, if your version of the app is out of date, for example to fix bugs, keep the game fair, protect the leaderboards or keep the app secure.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
